Welcome to Oasis Learning
Re-discovering the joy of play.
Oasis Learning is a full-day wellbeing support program for children aged 6 - 14, running on Tuesdays at Reservoir Neighbourhood House.

With a high adult-to-child ratio, Oasis Learning offers a space for friendship and freedom for each child. We offer a range of optional activities such as pottery, fine arts, philosophical discussions, drama and much more.
Children can explore their interests at their own pace, with adult guidance to rekindle their love of learning.
Understanding school disengagement
Often referred to as school refusal or School Can't, this complex experience is when children face barriers meaning they can't attend school.

Many families feel like they’re watching their child struggle within a system that can feel overwhelming or misaligned with their individual needs.

Sometimes the broader learning environment doesn’t fully reflect a child’s unique strengths or emotional experience and this can lead to disengagement or withdrawal.

We believe every child deserves a space where they feel a true sense of belonging. A place that understands the uniqueness of them, that breaks down those barriers and prioritises safety and community.

When children refuse school, it’s not defiance: It’s a message. They’re telling us something isn’t working and it’s our job to listen.

With over 50 years of combined teaching experience, Elizabeth, Olly and Paul view creativity, curiosity, critical thinking and play as the bedrock to a child's development.
Our approach to wellbeing centres around capacity building and social and emotional development. We emphasise self-directed and interest-based methods, working alongside families to support each child.
Our passion for the arts, play and philosophical inquiry guides our practice. We know that children want to ask challenging questions. They want to become something and express themselves in unique ways.
We foster a safe collaborative atmosphere where children learn socially and build skills together.
